MINI RANGERS

WHAT IS MINI RANGERS?

Leighton Park Rangers F.C’s Mini Football program, ‘Mini Rangers’, is a great way to introduce football for children in reception and year 1 in a fun and safe learning environment. Boys and Girls participate in fun sessions ran by experienced FA Qualified, Emergency First Aid Training and CBS Checked coaches.

WHERE AND WHEN IS IT?
Mini Rangers will be starting again in August 2020. Sessions will take place at The Vynes playing fields in Leighton Buzzard from 5pm to 6pm. Contact Us for more details.

The Vynes, Weston Ave, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 4JT

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
YOUR FIRST SESSION IS FREE. Mini Rangers sessions cost £2.50 per session.

IS THERE A CONTRACT?
No. All Mini Rangers Sessions are pay and play. Just pay for the sessions you’d like to attend.

WHAT WILL THEY LEARN?
Our Mini’s will be supported to; learn ball skills, take an active part in games, play as a team, understand the laws, develop their skills, develop their fitness and most importantly.. have fun!

DO MINI RANGERS PLAY MATCHES?
Not yet. League matches aren’t permitted by the FA until U7’s teams. Many of our Mini Rangers go on to take part in our U7’s teams.

HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT?
All our coaches are CBS checked, have completed child welfare courses and are emergency first aid trained. Sessions are also supported by the Leighton Park Rangers Welfare Officers with links to Beds FA Welfare.
At this age parents must stay to watch their child’s participation.

HOW ARE YOU MANAGING COVID-19?
We operate all Leighton Park Rangers F.C. sessions whilst strictly observing the Beds FA and Government Guidelines. Our club has published our guidelines for returning to training and our club risk assessment. All our coaches have completed a Prevent COVID-19 course and the club has provided all coaches with sanitising kits for balls and equipment.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO MY CHILD?

Benefit 1: Increased Physical Activity and Health.
Today, young people face many temptations to lead a sedentary lifestyle. Beginning involvement in youth sports at an early age is a great way to start healthy participation in outdoor activity.
Kids who play sports have lower body fat, stronger muscles and bones, and increased cardiovascular fitness. They have a much lower risk of becoming overweight or obese. And they can create a foundation for a healthy lifestyle.

Benefit 2: Form Social and Community Bonds.
For many kids, playing sports is a great way to make new friends. Participating on a team can give your children a chance to get to know others in their community, school, and local area. Mini Rangers can witness the value of volunteering service first-hand. They can understand what it means to be a positive community contributor.

Benefit 3: Improve Academic Potential
Many young people who pursue sports have a strong self-concept and are goal driven. These positive qualities can carry over into the classroom. Numerous studies have found a link between youth sports and academic success.

Benefit 4: Learn How to Face and Overcome Challenges
The benefits of youth sports participation extend beyond the pitch. Through playing sports, children can learn to make quick decisions and work as a team.

Benefit 5: Build a Foundation for Lifelong Health
Participating in sports can help young people develop healthy habits that last a lifetime. Often, young children may experiment with several sports, but focus or one or a few when older. Those that continue with sports recognise that regular practice can help them gain new skills. And more intense training can bring higher levels of performance. This motivation for self-improvement often persists after organised sports participation ends.
