Leighton Park Rangers Football Club Founded

Leighton Park Rangers F.C. was founded in 2010 by a group of parents who wanted their children to enjoy playing football and be part of a family orientated club. The club started playing in local leagues based at Vandyke Fields and older age groups playing at local schools.

The club initially started with 3 teams, 2 boys teams and 1 girls team.

New Astral Park Home Ground

Leighton Park Rangers were the first club to move to the newly established Astral Park facility. The club made this its home ground for all playing age groups as well as a venue for its fundraising and social events.

Nick Pinder elected as Chair

In 2015 club went through some dramatic changes with two of its older teams folding, leaving the club teetering on the edge of extinction. However, with the election of Nick Pinder as our Chairman and new committee members, the club resurrected itself with a new lease of life including new teams at various age groups from under 7’s to under 13’s, a regular mini soccer commitment.

First Club Sponsorship 

In 2015, the club secured its first club sponsorship and this is a model that the club has pursued this season. This Sponsorship is vital in securing new equipment and kit for the children, as well as some perks for the parents/guardians. 

LPR F.C. now fields 5 teams.

Club Achieves FA Charter Standard Status

The club is extremely proud to be recognised as by the FA as a charter Standard Club – Charter Standard Clubs are recognised for their quality, safety, structure and commitment to development by the FA.

New Website Launched

In 2018 the club launched it’s own hosted website with online signing-on capability becoming a ‘paperless’ club and providing the club with a better platform to display and distribute information. LPR now has 9 teams playing.

LPR Refreshes it’s brand and badge

Sticking with the club colours of yellow and blue the committee voted on a new club badge and branding to give the club a more modern look and feel. 

LPR now has 12 Teams.

Mini Rangers Launched

The club re-launches a program for non-league Mini football for players in reception and year 1. It is a huge success and 5 new teams are born.

COVID-19 Halts football

The Covid-19 pandemic halts all football for a period of 3 months. During this time the club provide online training and closely follow the FA & Governments regulations to return safely to football sessions.

Club Awarded Charter Standard Development Club Status

In 2020 Leighton Park Rangers has been awarded Charter Standard Development Club status. This is the second rung of 3 in the FA’s Charter Standard programme and a huge achievement of LPR. This award is a recognition of LPR’s continuous striving for the best possible standards of experience for young people playing football. The club now operates with 14 teams.

LPR Awarded FA Wildcats Centre Status

Having started running girls football again with great success LPR is approved as an FA Wildcats centre for supporting Girls and Women’s football. 

The club now has 16 Teams from U5s to U15s.

Club Accredited as Two Star Club within the FA’s England Football program 

Accreditation is awarded to clubs that offer all players – whether male and / or female and / or disability players – across a range of ages the opportunity to fully access the best of football in well run, high quality, safe and sustainable environment, and fit for purpose League competitions.
Accredited clubs infrastructure is sound, robust, efficient and effective. They centre behaviours around the Respect standards and behaviours needed to make football in England something we can all be proud to be part of.
