WOMEN'S EURO's 2022 in MK

Dan and Richard from the LPR F.C. Committee were lucky enough to be invited to an evening at MK Stadium to learn about the Women’s Euros 2022 and the projects and opportunities surrounding this exciting event.
The evening was brilliantly hosted by Ellie Reid, MK’s Women’s participation Officer, who was joined by John Cove, Director of MK Dons & Chair of MK Dons SET, Maralyn Smith, MK Dons SET CEO, Janette Murphy, Leisure & Community Officer and other members of the MK Dons team and local council members.

It’s very exciting to have world-class talent on display in a major European tournament right on our doorsteps. It gives us all the opportunity to feel the passion, see the skill, the determination and courage as the best on the continent compete to become European champions.
Anyone wanting to buy tickets to see the four games being hosted at Stadium MK can visit the UEFA link and buy tickets for as little as £10 https://www.uefa.com/womenseuro/ticketing/#/

The fun and excitement will build around the city with a fan party to greet travellers at the train station a fan parade through the city and more.
There are also many opportunities to get involved by volunteering. Whatever your skill set, there is a role that will suit you and play a key part in making the tournament a success. Some volunteer roles include:
– Way finding
– Assisting with the movement of crowds
– Helping to build the crowd atmosphere
– Be on hand to assist spectators.

All volunteers will receive:
• Full training

• An appointed Team Leader
• Volunteer centre / meeting place

If anyone would like to learn more about volunteering please contact the club and we’ll put you in contact with the MK Dons team.

The team at MK Dons are also working on a number of fantastic projects around the tournament. The legacy project will seek to use the positivity and momentum of the tournament to inspire and support women’s and girls football in the local community and beyond. There are a plethora of existing girls and women’s football projects from supporting mums to try something new or return to football in fun supportive environments, to walking football, wildcats and more.
If you’d like any more info on any of these topics please drop the committee a message.
